Public toilets

Haslemere Town Council is delighted to confirm that planning permission has been granted by WBC for new public toilets to be built at Lion Green.

The building will comprise 3 individual unisex cubicles, a small storage room and solar panels on the roof to offset electricity usage.  They will be free to use and contain Wallgate “no touch” flush and hand wash systems.   The toilet block will be built on the small green between the Apple Tree public house and Marks & Spencer, and will be set back from the road so that traffic sightlines are not impeded.

The Council originally considered taking out a PWLB loan, the cost of which would have been passed to local resident taxpayers.  However; through careful stewardship of Council finances and payments of Community Infrastructure Levy there will be no additional cost passed on.

The Council hopes it will be a welcome addition to the offering at Lion Green.
