Create A Star Award Winner
Haslemere Town Council are a proud sponsor of the ‘Create a Star Award’ which was presented by the Mayor at the Haslemere Sports Awards which took place last week.
This year’s winner was Amelia Kent who at just 14 years old is making waves as a talented dinghy sailor from Hayling Island Sailing Club. As an international optimist dinghy racer in her age group, she has already made impressive strides in the sport.
Currently ranked fifth among females under 14 in the UK and breaking into the top 20 for those under 15, Amelia’s achievements are remarkable.
Excitingly, she has been chosen to represent Great Britain at the upcoming European Championships in 2024. With aspirations that reach even higher, Amelia dreams of one day competing for GB at the Olympics—a goal that reflects her dedication and potential.
