Broadcasting & Social Media
The right to record, film and to broadcast meetings of the Council, Committees and Sub Committees was established following the Local Government Audit and Accountability Act 2014. The policy for broadcasting or using social media set out the rules governing this right.

Members Code of Conduct
All councillors have agreed to observe the Members’ Code of Conduct which sets out the rules governing the behaviour of councillors.
Memorial Bench policy
Haslemere Town Council has introduced a policy at the request of residents. The policy can be found here with Appendix 1.
Pensions Discretions

Public Speaking at Meetings
All members of the public are welcome to attend any Full Council or Committee meeting at which they are entitled to make a public representation.

Standing Orders
Haslemere Town Council is governed by a set of rules and laws called Standing Orders. These set out the way in which Haslemere Town Council should conduct its business, and include rules ranging from how meetings are conducted to how the Council should respond to the Press. View Standing Orders
Transparency Code
The Local Government Transparency Code 2014 was introduced to meet the Government’s desire to place more power into citizens’ hands to increase democratic accountability and make it easier for local people to contribute to the local decision-making process and help shape public services. The Government believes that transparency is the foundation of local accountability and the key that gives people the tools and information they need to enable them to play a bigger role in society.
