D-Day 80th Anniversary – 6th June 2024 – St Christopher’s Green, Haslemere

📣 6TH JUNE 2024 – D-DAY 80TH ANNIVERSARY – 19:00 – 21:30
Haslemere Town Council,  along with other local organisations have organised an event to commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day.

This event will take place on St Christopher’s Green in Haslemere – Bring a chair and come along to enjoy live music from the era throughout the evening.  St Christopher’s Church will be running a bar with profits going towards the Royal British legion.    Our Town Crier Christian Ashdown (who has written the proclamation for the nation) will be proclaiming ! At the end of the evening the lighting of the beaon will take place in line with the rest of the nation.

♦️ THE TOWN CRIER WILL BE HOSTING THE EVENT, AND WILL BE GIVING THE D-DAY PROCLAMATION WHICH HE HAS WRITTEN FOR THE NATION.
♦️ D-DAY STORY DISPLAY AT ST CHRISTOPHER’S CHURCH FROM 10AM ON THE 6TH JUNE (DISPLAY OPEN FROM WEDNESDAY 5TH – SATURDAY 8TH JUNE).
♦️ LIVE MUSIC FROM THE ERA
♦️ LANGHAMS BREWERY WILL BE SERVING ‘OVERLORD’ A TRADITIONAL ENGLISH IPA THEIR SPECIALLY BREWED BEER FOR D-DAY – A COLLABORATIVE BREW WITH THEIR FRIENDS FROM WARFIELD BREWERY IN THE USA.
♦️ CARA GORDA CANTINA WILL BE SERVING VIBRANT STREET FOOD THROUGHOUT THE EVENING
♦️ LIGHTING OF BEACON IN CELEBRATION OF THE LIGHT OF PEACE
